PIRATE'S COVE BIG GAME TOURNAMENTS ANNOUNCE 5th ANNUAL DARE COUNTYBOAT BUILDERS CHALLENGE RESULTS

Manteo, North Carolina - Pirate's Cove Big Game Tournaments and the Dare County Boat Builders Foundation announce the results of the 5th Annual Dare County Boat Builders Challenge that took place July 17 (registration) and July 18 and 19 at Pirate's Cove Marina. Fishing was cancelled on July 20th due to anticipated offshore conditions caused by Tropical Storm Cristobal.  A total of 18 boats from Dare County, Virginia Beach, Morehead City, Ocean City and beyond enjoyed a cash payout of nearly $35,000. A total of 38 billfish were released during the event (1 Blue Marlin, 7 White Marlin and 30 Sailfish).


The Dare County Boat Builders Foundation raised over $50,000 from this event. The DCBBF is a 501-C3 not for profit organization formed to develop, encourage and promote public awareness of the historical and cultural heritage of boat building in Dare County and to support educational opportunities for students. The foundation is led by John Bayliss, president, Ricky Scarborough Jr., VP, Robin Mann, Tres., Finn Gaddy, Bubba Brezendine, Mike Merrit and Harry Hindmarsh. For more information or to make a contribution, please contact Robin Mann, DCBBF, P.O.
