Stefanie Ann in Second Place with Junior Anglers from 9 to 15 years

The 27 Annual Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament is in full swing hitting the halfway mark with two days left of fishing.

The big story of the tournament so far is the boat Stefanie Ann which is in second place with 490 pts. All of the anglers are juniors! The oldest is Donnie Gordon at 15 yrs. then Blaine Birch at 14 yrs followed by Jarrett and Canyon Birch at 12 and 9 years respectfully. This is why we need to take kids fishing, because they just might surprise you.

The boat in the lead after Day 2 is Uno Mas with 490 pts. which retained its lead while taking their lay day which puts them in a strong position going into days 3 and 4. Stefanie Ann is in second with 490 pts. and Waste Knot inches upward into third. Frenzy took the daily top boat with 4 white marlin while Hunter was bird dogging them with a Grand Slam with a extra white. All in all fishing was a little slower than on Tuesday, but it was still good. 39 marlin were released in all.

Outside of the fishing we had our typical hot weather. Despite the heat, the festivities under the pavilion went well with great music by the Embers. The food that Kellys provided was excellent and Bacardis provided spirits for everyone.
